Q&A

  • Why can’t the photos or videos be displayed vertically when playing them?

Some apps will automatically convert to "streaming" when playing photos or videos.

At this time, the screen will not be displayed vertically when playing.

For example: ios photo app, ios google photo app, etc.

You can use other apps instead

  • Can I charge while using the device when connected via a wired connection?

1.Using a Lightning iPhone (iPhone 7 to iPhone 14, with a Lightning port)

The phone will display "charging while in use," and in reality, it is indeed charging while being used.

As shown in the image, charging at 4.9V 1100mA (1.1A).

    2.  Using a Lightning iPad or a USB-C iPad

The iPad's chip is designed to limit the current flow. When connected to a computer (host), it can only draw a maximum of 500mA.

The iPad will not show the "charging while in use" symbol, but power is still being supplied to the iPad, and the battery drains slowly.

Due to the design of the iPad's chip, it will only draw up to 500mA.

(You can connect it to the computer and observe whether it’s truly charging while in use. My adapter acts as the computer.)

    3. Using a USB-C iPhone or a USB-C Android device

The phone will show "charging while in use," but it may still lose power, though at a very slow rate.

There is still a chance to charge while in use, depending on whether the phone's power consumption is lower than the charging speed.

Due to the design limitations of the USB-C chip, it can only draw up to 500mA.

(You can connect it to the computer and observe whether it’s truly charging while in use. My adapter acts as the computer.)

As shown in the image: DC 5.11V 466mA

How to Achieve Charging While in Use?
Using an iPad as an example, charge the iPad to over 95%, lower the screen brightness, and run a simple app.

Make sure there aren’t too many background apps running.

Even though connecting via a USB cable may not show the "charging while in use" symbol, the adapter is still supplying power to the iPad.

If you are simply playing web videos, in my test with the iPad Pro at 95% battery, after one hour of use, it still showed 95% battery.

If you are running a power-hungry app, like a game, the battery may slowly decrease, but the drop in battery percentage is very slow.

If you absolutely need to ensure charging while in use, use a wireless connection or connect the iPad directly to a charger—this will guarantee charging    while in use.

  • Why does my iPhone display black bars on the sides when projecting to the TV?

The FEBON vertical full-screen projector for phones maintains the original aspect ratio when projecting to the TV.

However, since the aspect ratios of different phone screens vary, the projected image will also differ:

Our approach is to add black bars to preserve the original screen ratio.

    • iPhone 7, SE, SE2 (16:9): Full-screen projection on the TV.
    • iPhone 15 (19.5:9): There will be small black bars on the sides.
    • iPad Pro (4:3): Black bars will be added to the top and bottom of the TV screen.

  • Is there any firmware version that allows full-screen iPhone/iPad projection without black bars?

We currently have a BETA version of firmware that allows non-16:9 iPhones to display in full screen on the TV, but the image might appear slightly stretched.

This firmware is only compatible with iOS 17 and below (including iOS 17); it does not work with iOS 18.

This firmware is an internal engineering version and may have unforeseen issues.

You can revert to the original firmware if necessary.

For Android phones, you can use wireless Miracast and adjust to a 16:9 ratio, so no firmware change is needed for Android users.
